December 3, 2024
This Giving Tuesday, DAWN Canada is proud to launch the Set Inclusion in Motion campaign, continuing our legacy of driving transformative change for women and gender-diverse people with disabilities.
Today is also the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, a day to promote the rights and well-being of persons with disabilities in all spheres of society and development. While progress has been made, much work remains to achieve true equity and inclusion. To do so, it’s essential that we center the voices of women and gender-diverse people with disabilities in this critical work.
Did you know that 30% of women in Canada live with a disability? Despite accounting for 1 in 3 women, women and gender-diverse people with disabilities still face disproportionately high rates of poverty, housing insecurity, workplace discrimination, and violence.
These systemic inequities demand urgent action.
The Set Inclusion in Motion campaign supports DAWN Canada’s human rights work by addressing these challenges head-on. Through education, starting in workplaces, we will provide training programs that center the lived experiences of those too often excluded from these vital conversations.
Your support today is more than a donation—it’s a commitment to making inclusion the norm, creating equitable workplaces, and ensuring justice and opportunity for everyone.
