Roundtable with Prime Minister Justin Trudeau

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and the Honourable Mélanie Joly, Minister of Tourism, Official Languages and La Francophonie, sat with women's groups to talk about the difficult choices that women face, including women with disabilities. Bonnie Brayton, National Executive Director of DAWN Canada, participated in the roundtable which took place in Montreal on July 16th, 2019. This is some of the data she shared about women with disabilities:

- 24% of women in Canada have a disability, based on the most recent Statistics Canada data

- For every 1 man that gets a concussion, approximately 7000 women get the same injury due to violence.
