16 Days of Action Against Gender-based Violence

December 8, 2025

What do you know about gender-based violence (GBV)? GBV is any harmful act against an individual because of their gender.

GBV has been a focal point of DAWN Canada’s research pillar. Through numerous studies and findings, DAWN Canada has been advocating for intersectional and cross-disability approaches to prevent GBV, focusing on gaps affecting women, girls, and gender-diverse people with disabilities.

As we mark the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence, and the 12 Days of Action Against Violence Against Women recognized in Quebec, we invite you to share these messages and help us raise awareness and support the cause to end violence against women, girls, and gender-diverse people.
